Abstract	espanolEste articulo estudia el emprendimiento como un fenomeno complejo que se desarrolla en un contexto regional concreto a traves del concepto “ecosistema emprendedor”, que surge precisamente para ilustrar el impacto de localizacion y la interaccion en el desempeno de la actividad emprendedora. Tras poner en contexto la relevancia de las pequenas organizaciones, se estudian los principales marcos de referencia para analizar los ecosistemas emprendedores y concluye con la necesidad de avanzar en la definicion de un mejor marco teorico, asi como de indicadores sobre su potencial. EnglishThis paper studies entrepreneurship as a complex phenomenon developed in a specific regional context through the concept “entrepreneurial ecosystem”, which precisely emerges to show the impact of location and interactions as a key aspect of the entrepreneurial activity. After examining the influence of the small businesses, the article analyses the notion of entrepreneurial ecosystem and the main ecosystem frameworks to conclude with the need for a better approach considering the dynamics of the ecosystem and also indicators and metrics to evaluate its potential.
