| Abstract | El panorama epistemologico que se descubre hacia el primer tercio del siglo XX, nos presenta la imagen de una ciencia fragmentada, ya por su objeto de estudio, ya por la especificidad de su metodo. El conocimiento cientifico atraviesa por su crisis mas severa de principios; la relatividad de los saberes pareciera que anima todavia mas a esta fragmentacion epistemologica, al tiempo que inhibe la falta de unidad de la ciencia. Frente a este panorama, Eduardo Nicol se da a la tarea de mostrarun camino de integracion epistemologico, afirmando que la ciencia no es una disciplina, sino una comunidad de saberes, hallando justamente, tanto en su origen como en su fin, el principio de unidad. El fin de la ciencia trasciende a cualquier disciplina particular. Esta es ante todo humana porque se encuentra enderezada hacia el ser humano. The epistemological picture that is discovered by the first third of the 20th century, presents us with the image of a science fragmented, already by its object of study, already by the specificity of the method. The science is experiencing its most severe crisis of principles; the relativity of knowledge it would seem that encourages even more to this fragmentation epistemological, at the same time that inhibits the lack of unity of science.
