| Abstract | We report the synthesis and characterisation of new, highly fluorescent, zinc complexes of bis(thiosemicarbazone) ligands incorporating extended aromatic backbones which are cytotoxic at levels comparable to cisplatin; cellular fluorescence imaging studies suggest these cause cell death by disruption of mitochondria. |
