Abstract	In France, the « water act » of 1992 prescribes an integrated water resources management at the scale of watershed or regional aquifer. The Schémas d’Aménagement et de Gestion des Eaux (SAGE for Water Management Plans), defined in the « water act », are designed by a decision team which brings together state agents, local representatives and water users in order to manage the resources. But, the resources are spatialy distributed and time dependent and they are in interaction with the whole environment. The complexity of the system implies the use of modeling methods suitable to support the decisions of the team. The Geographical Information Systems (GIS) have the following advantages in this context : spatial data handling and updating and spatial analysis. Coupling of GIS with Hydrological Models enables to model the spatial and temporal variability for hydrologic forecasting and for resources estimation on unjauged watershed. The GIS manages spatial data and the Hydrological Model simulates processes. A method to estimate the minimal spatial resolution input in the Hydrological Model is presented. The contributions of these tools are illustrated by the simulation of a SAGE on a french watershed in Massif Central: the Renaison (133 km2). The following applications are developped on this watershed: superficial water flow simulation, inputs of agricultural nutriments by sub-watershed, vulnerability of water resources, nitrate filtering effects of natural vegetation, protection of water quality by wetlands.
