Prior to re-joining academia in 2004, Rasigan worked variously across Policy Functions within South Africa’s National System of Innovation. Prior to 1994, he held elected leadership positions within the United Democratic Front, Congress of South African Trade Unions and African National Congress. Rasigan holds a PhD from Forskningspolitiska Institutet, Lund University, Sweden and is also an alumnus of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and Harvard Business School, USA. Rasigan is an active in the Global Network for the Economics of Learning, Innovation and Competence-building Systems and serves on the Scientific Board for the Africa Region. Rasigan is a Ministerial Representative on the Council of Rhodes University and an elected Senator of Tshwane University of Technology.
