| Abstract | The societies we live in should be more concerned with prevention rather than with acting. A society like ours should focus on the basic principle whereby «whoever might pollute should contribute to meliorate such risk». Sustainable Governments must ensure citizens consistent legal frameworks together with tighter control measures. Greater investment efforts are required in innovative technologies: more ecological, consuming fewer raw materials throughout production and applying sensible environmental processes. The need of such investment efforts becomes more evident facing the induced hazards such as those caused by the wreck of the oil carrier «Prestige», a year ago now. Only thus intentions will turn into facts. The term «Convenience Flag» is outrageous since the correct term would be «Taxation and Economical Convenience Flags», with no social or ecological convenience at all. |
