Abstract | Given the rapid development in power network construction, electronic current transformers are gradually replacing traditional electromagnetic current transformers. In accordance with national standards-based typical 8/20 microsecond lightning current wave characteristics, the principle of a self-integrating lightning current sensor based on a Rogowski coil was analyzed, the related structural and electrical parameters were calculated, and then corresponding experiments were designed and performed. The experimental results for the sensor showed that this type of lightning current sensor held a better and wider current frequency range, measurement accuracy and linearity, its original sensitivity reached 164.5 mV/KA, and the current frequency of the lightning impulse that was detected could be from 776 Hz to 63.8 MHz, the bandwidth of the lightning current sensors exceed to 60 MHz , Hence this lightning current sensor can measure actual current pulse with rapid velocity and high sensitivity, and satisfy the requirements for lightning current characteristics of rapid change in current and large amplitude. The flexible and open-type skeleton structure allows the sensor to detect the primary current more easily, moreover, doesn't require cutting the primary current conductors, especially for the larger size or irregular primary current conductors. |
