| Abstract | This paper focused on the shopping behavior of consumers from the city Londrina, in the State of Paraná/Brazil, and on their perceptions of the commercial internet environment. The methodology applied in this study consisted of three stages: firstly, a bibliographical review on the themes E-commerce and consumer's shopping behavior was conducted on the internet; secondly a personal indepth interview was made with a virtual electronic shop manager and, finally, a quantitative research with local consumers of Internet e-commerce was carried out at the major local shopping center in the city of Londrina. The results pointed out that interviewees evaluated their online shopping positively and that their disposition to continue shopping on the internet remains positive. On the other hand, the results also showed that interviewees' perceptions do not tend to change their shopping behavior by substituting traditional bricks-and-mortar shopping for virtual shopping. |
