| Abstract | Bu calismanin temel amaci, Midilli Adasi’nda ikamet eden Yunanistan vatandaslarinin Ayvalik’i ziyaret edislerinde satin aldiklari urunlerin neler oldugunu ve demografik degiskenlerin urun tercihleri uzerinde bir farkliliga neden olup olmadigini test etmektir. Bu calismada ayrica, arastirmanin orneklemini olusturan turistlerin Ayvalik’ta yaptiklari alisverise iliskin memnuniyet duzeyinin ve arastirma orneklemi ozelinde Ayvalik’in olumlu ve olumsuz yonlerinin belirlenmesi amaclanmistir. Arastirma orneklemi olarak (Midilli Adasi’nda ikamet eden) Yunanistan vatandaslarinin tercih edilmesinin en onemli nedeni, Ayvalik’a gelen yabanci turistlerin neredeyse tamaminin Yunanistan vatandasi olmasidir. Arastirmanin amaclarina ulasmak icin, oncelikle bir literatur incelemesi yapilmis ve bu bilgilerden yola cikarak bir saha arastirmasi gerceklestirilmistir. Veri toplama yontemi olarak yuz yuze anket metodu secilmis ve anketler Midilli Adasi’nda uygulanmistir. Satin alinan urun ile demografik faktorler (yas, cinsiyet, gelir ve meslek) arasindaki iliskiyi ortaya koymak icin Ki-kare testi yapilmistir. Arastirma sonuclarina gore tercih edilen urun ile cinsiyet, gelir ve meslek arasinda anlamli bir iliski bulunmustur. Ayvalik’a gelen ziyaretcilerin memnuniyet duzeylerini olcmeye yonelik yapilan analiz sonuclari incelendiginde, en dusuk memnuniyet duzeyinin dukkânlarin ozellikleri ve yabanci dil yeterliligi, en yuksek memnuniyet duzeyinin ise urun cesitliligi ve personelin tutumu oldugu tespit edilmistir. JEL Siniflandirmasi: L83, M31 A STUDY ON DETERMINING SHOPPING CHOICES AND LEVEL OF CUSTOMING SATISFACTION OF VISITORS COMING FROM MYTILENE TO AYVALIK Abstract The main object of this study is to determine what kind of goods Greek citizens residing in Mytilene buy when they come to Ayvalik and to test if demographic variables make any difference on good choice of the customers. In addition, they are aimed in this study to determine the level of shopping satisfaction in Ayvalik of tourists who compose of the sample of this study, and positive and negative aspects of Ayvalik according to sample of the study. The most important reason of why Greek citizens (residing in Mytilene) were preferred as the sample of the study is that almost all of foreign tourists visiting Ayvalik are Greek citizens. In order to achieve the aims of the study, initially related literature was reviewed and then a field research was implemented. The data of the study was collected by using face-to-face survey method, and survey was conducted in Ayvalik. A chi-square test was performed to detect the relationship between purchased goods and demographic factors (age, gender, income and occupation). The results of the analysis demonstrate significant relationships between purchased goods and gender, income and occupation. When the results of the analysis that was performed to identify the satisfaction levels of tourists visiting Ayvalik is inspected, they are seen that the lowest satisfaction levels are about store features, and foreign language proficiency and the highest satisfaction levels are about product range, and attitude of the staff.
