Abstract	In response to a demand from the membership of the Society, a special department will be included in each issue of the JOURNAL for communications of less than five hundred words in length, for which the authors desire prompt publication. Such "Notes" must present the result of original research accompanied by adequate supporting evidence. Contributors should be careful to observe the bibliographical procedure which has been adopted by the JOURNAL. Papers presented at local branches-for which prompt publication is otherwise provided-will not be accepted.
