| Abstract | Multi-exposure image fusion, deals with combining a given a set of images captured at different exposure levels to obtain an image where all areas are well-exposed and resultant fused image is more suitable for human and machine perception. In the proposed method we have applied Homomorphic filter to set of multi exposed visual and IR images so as to highlight the high frequency components and simultaneously normalize the brightness across an image and increase contrast. The image is then partitioned into uniform blocks and best block of each image is selected based on quality factor, entropy. The highest entropy blocks are then blended together using gradient-ascent algorithm to obtain best exposed fused image with maximum entropy and hence maximize information content. |
