| Abstract | Polymer solar cells with bulk heterojunction structures of donor material poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT):acceptor [6,6] phenyl C 71 -butyric acid methyl ester (PC 71 BM) were fabricated. Upconverting (UC) nanocrystals (NCs), NaYF 4 :2% Er 3+ , 18% Yb 3+ , were doped into a poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) with poly(4-styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) hole extraction layer to convert the near-infrared radiation into the visible emission that can be reabsorbed by the P3HT donor. With an optimal UC NC doping concentration of 0.1 wt%, the short-circuit current density and power conversion effi ciency reach 8.41 mA cm −2 |
