| Abstract | The meaning of innovation is analysed in the archives, as well as a model to be implemented as the result of activities that implement new services or products. Categories of innovation are proposed in the archives and those categories are analysed as implemented in different archives of the European Union. We conclude that the introduction of innovative products and services in European archives has been made possible by incorporating the latest capabilities in Information Technology and Communication, good practice in the management of archives, especially in the description normalised in indexing and application of standards for interoperability, and finally, to the incorporation of the functionality of Web 2.0, allowing communication with the user files. |
