| Abstract | The objective of the study was to evaluate the performance and cost of a harvester in eucalyptus forest of low productivity. A time study was carried out, in order to know the time spent by each element of the operating cycle. The results showed that the most time-consuming step was the processing, followed by displacement, by the slaughter and the stops. The average of the productive was 7.92 m³ h-1 sc, with an average of individual volume of 0,125 m³sc arv.-1, and with an average operating efficiency of 57%. The cost of the hours actually worked was R$ 218,99 and the cost of production was R$ 27,72 m-3sc. The production cost proved quite sensitive to small changes in productivity. Variable costs represent 69% of the total, followed by fixed costs (18%), administrative costs (9%) and labor costs (4%). |
