| Abstract | After two decades from the beginning of the first programs of rural development in Basque Country, it has been consolidated a model that is based on the possibilities that the proximity of urban area contributes to him. Thus, if at a first moment they were the basic infrastructures, access and water, today the high-priority objective is to obtain a suitable threshold of population residing in rural area, in many cases of urban origin. In this evolution the rural municipality has been the unit that has articulated the execution of the different programs having contributed with financing, dynamizing and management. In this work, taking as reference the province of Guípuzkoa, we analyze the basic characteristics of each one of the initiated programs, its results and the evolution that have done the chosen rural model. |
