| Abstract | This thesis project is to design a network of digital terrestrial television under the ISDB-Tb ( Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting Terrestrial with Brazilian amended) standard mode on SFN ( single frequency network ) in order to make a coverage Analysis of DVB-T for metropolitan areas, in order to serve as a reference model for the implementation of DTT in the different provinces. The most salient features of ISDB-Tb standard are; mobility and portability through one-seg, interactivity using the middleware Ginga, robustness against interference due to the possibility of using single frequency networks (SFN). Employing single frequency networks allows efficient use of the radio spectrum, reducing interference and eliminate shaded areas. Values and definitions of the master plan for digital terrestrial television in Peru , given by the MTC (Ministry of Transport and Communications) and the Brazilian standard ABNT NBR 15601 will be taken for the design of the SFN. Before presenting the design of the SFN is necessary to analyze the current situation of analogue television in the city of Arequipa, to contrast the advantages and disadvantages of the implementation, it has decided to refer the TV system of Global TV, since the latter is the only channel that works in the frequency band set by the MTC for the city of Arequipa. To calculate the area of coverage and reliability of the linked simulation television systems with ATDI ICS Telecom software trial version for students was conducted. It took into consideration the option of using other software for the prediction of coverage as GIRAPLAN from the company PROGIRA, but licensing costs are very high, the possibility of using XIRIO ONLINE was considered, but because it requires an analysis deeper the ATDI ICS Telecom software was the best option. To implement the design of the single frequency network, a study of the parameters that must be configured for network operation was performed. Parameters appropriate to the geography of the city of Arequipa was established for the correct operation, considering all the parameters for proper simulation coverage. To cover the vast majority of the districts of the city of Arequipa, the SFN was designed in order that the shadows and own network interference occur on unpopulated areas, besides providing the resource re-orientation of antennas for wider coverage area. |
