Abstract	El trabajo presente analiza el concepto de mundos posibles en Possible Worlds , pelicula del realizador canadiense Robert Lepage, y El gran teatro del mundo , auto sacramental de Pedro Calderon de la Barca. Ambos creadores plantean la existencia de una humanidad supeditada a un orden externo, pero duena de libre albedrio. Por su lado, Lepage juega con la teoria matematica de los mundos posibles que intenta probar la posibilidad de que una misma persona viva existencias diferentes en universos paralelos. Calderon, por otra parte, metaforiza la vida humana como el transito de los personajes sobre el escenario del extremo senalado por la cuna al de la tumba. Ahi deben entregar todas sus galas y herramientas y enfrentar el juicio del Autor de la obra que representan. Ambos creadores cuestionan la importancia de los valores mundanos y representan en escena el concepto de que el ser humano es un todo integrado por funciones mentales, es decir un alma, pero tambien por el cuerpo en el que aquellas se contienen. «Possible Worlds within Calderon de la Barca and Robert Lepage» The present work analyzes the concept of possible worlds within Possible Worlds , a film by the Canadian director Robert Lepage, and El gran teatro del mundo by Calderon de la Barca. Both works deal with a humanity that lives under the rules of an external order, but that is able to use the free will. On one hand, Lepage plays with the mathematical theory of possible worlds which intends to prove the existence of a single person in parallel universes. On the other hand, Calderon creates a metaphor of the human existence as the transit of the characters from one side of the stage to the other, signified by a cradle and a tombstone, where the characters have to prepare themselves to be judged by the author of the play they have just performed. Both works question the importance of worldly values and present a concept of the human being as a whole, integrated by its mental operations, or souls, and the body that contains them.
