Abstract	The objective of this paper is to study the effects of inhibitory and influencing factors on the behaviour intention and use of electronic banking i n the case of the elderly. These factors are groupe d into three categories: 1) personal interaction fact ors; 2) perceived risk factors; and 3) factors rela ting to the expected benefits. We show a positive effect of personal factors and those related to the desir ed benefits, while the factors associated with risk pl ay an inhibiting role in the intention and use of t he e-banking. We use a collected survey of 396 individ uals over 60 years of age. The structural model was evaluated by PLS (Partial Least Squares) with a n adequate global fit. The results allow identifying those factors that may favour or prejud ice the process of acceptance and use of electronic banking in the elderly.
