| Abstract | Sleep disorders in menopausal transition are part of the symptoms reported by women such as those affecting their quality of life. Conventional medicine has therapeutic tools with good results, but still presents difficulties in maintaining these results in the long term without adverse effects. Traditional Chinese Medicine, from its interpretation of female physiology, provides a therapeutic logic through acupuncture, grounded in comprehensive syndromic approach. Jing Deficiency with Kidney Yin and Yang components, complex syndromes of Kidney, Heart and Liver and Excess syndromes specified as Stagnation and Phlegm are closely related to sleep disorders in menopausal transition. The acupuncturist's appropriate therapeutic approach and theoretical clarity about it will lead to significantly improve sleep patterns in these women and give way to future primary researches. |
