| Abstract | This article describes and analyzes, through an ethnobiographic perspective, the social situation of four women living in Macapa's Perpetuo Socorro neighborhood after a fire of tragic proportions destroyed their homes, lives, and social ties. This research focused on how they tried to reestablish their everyday living and other aspects of their lives impacted by the catastrophic event that occurred in October 2013. The text presents an analysis of the existential conditions and sociocultural practices carried while these individuals, who experienced extensive violence throughout their lives, attempted to reestablish their daily routine. It also examines the way in which these women were reassessed through the framework of their losses and the redefining of their social reality through their own oral reports obtained in the field by socio-analytic listening of what was said and what was not. |
