Abstract	Styrax argenteus var. grandiflorus var. nov. is described from the western part of the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. This tree was found in wet pine-oak forests. It differs from other known varieties of S. argenteus in its larger flowers and fruits as well as in the larger number of flowers per inflorescence.
