| Abstract | Whereas the Environmental Education in Secondary Education is an emergency and a paradox that needs to be investigated and understood, this research aims to report and analyze the experience of environmental education developed by the Project Green Ocean, from CEAN Center High School of Brasilia, therefore an experiment of Critical Environmental Education in a public school that has been established for 14 years. This project was a case study of qualitative approach that sought to reconstruct and analyze the experience of school, from within, through the speech of the main protagonists that shows the complexity of roots in this practice at that level of education. The study analyzed and shown lead us to conclude that we must review on the high school programs and incorporate a specific environmental education that considers the culture and explore the potential within students to experiments and political actions, guiding towards a life / society sustainable. The study also demonstrates the importance of expansion, conceptual understanding, environmental education and the opening of school for the cultural as a form of recognition and integration of the young. Besides the necessary systemic changes of secondary education, to consider it a school ecosystem; oikos to the youth, the school, which by its importance, as the river and mangroves, should be treated as an area of environmental protection. |
