| Abstract | This critical review investigates the effectiveness of the script-fading procedure in promoting verbalized social interactions for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). A literature search using computerized databases generated five multiple baseline design studies, which fit the criteria for this review. All studies included individuals between the ages of 2;11 and 12 years, who were diagnosed with ASD. Results of this critical appraisal yield promising evidence for the use of script-fading as a viable treatment for conversational language with children with autism. Clinical implications are discussed. |
