| Abstract | Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disease with the second larger amount of reported cases worldwide. Progressive and idiopathic, affects mostly people over 60 years old, however remains unknown in different aspects. Possible risk factors and their interactions are investigated because genetic mutations account for a small proportion of all cases, where most cases are caused by external factors added to susceptible gene. In this paper was made a revision relates to what ir know about descriptive epidemiology and treatments related to the disease, the differentiation of parkinsonism types, as well as a projection amount of the Parkinson's disease patients in Brazil in 2060, to attend the governor on increasing the amount of elderly and consequently the increasing number of cases of the disease, in order to intensify the search for early diagnosis for delaying the advance of Parkinson's disease. |
