| Abstract | This study aims to predict and analyze the demand for product types at PT. XYZ. Application of data mining using the algorithm C4.5 decision tree method is set to provide information based on the pattern carried out by the customer, so the company can accomplish the right strategy and decision makings. In this study, the data were obtained through the initial study to determine the process of demand and sales transactions. Based on this study, it is found that the analysis of manually demand needs is as one of problems, so it needs an accurate analysis in predicting the demand for product types. Of this problem, a model which can classify and also predict the demand for product types is required. Application of data mining using the algorithm C4.5 decision tree method can predict and improve the accuracy in analyzing the pattern of demand for product types. The more knowledge or available information which contained by the data training and examined through data testing, the accuracy of decision tree will be more optimal. |
