| Abstract | This article examines the territorial distribution of electoral support by linking political choices, communes and votes for Mayor 2003, 2007 and 2011. To this purpose the Nationalization Index calculation is proposed in order to observe the variation of political support to throughout the municipality. Also, it will be tracked the political choices that have participated in elections since the first popular election of Mayors making a distinction between political parties, political movements and independent candidates, and among some characteristic features of the profiles of the two candidates more voted in the three election days observed. Then, in the light of the values that throws the Nationalization index, it seeks to identify the type of relationship between the electoral results and communes according the statistical mode on socioeconomic stratum as well profiles of the two candidates more voted. The author argue that, on the one hand, there are some communes with very elastic election results depending to the profile of the candidate and others significantly stable and indifferent to the profiles; and yet, on the other hand, the sum of the votes in the "elastic communes" and "communes stable and indifferent" reach an important number of votes, in some cases, was enough to clinch the office of Mayor of Cali. |
