| Abstract | Tracking of objects in pixel space using block based methods or template matching suffers from boundary alignment problems, assumes knowledge of object location, and is severely effected by rotation and shear. This work examines tracking in the region domain after simple segmentation has been performed. Using region adjacency graphs and object picture trees, it is proposed to perform the search in this space, using relational information rather than absolute value. In this way tracking becomes a database mining exercise rather than a pixel level problem. |
