| Abstract | An integrated geophysical survey as been carried out on the future dam site of Yakouta, Burkina Faso. The objectives were to evaluate the ability of multi-electrode 2D imaging and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) at 50 MHz to investigate the sand dune where the dam foundations willlean. The results emphazise the complementarity of the two methods : 2D electrical imaging is able to detect the depth to the clays and bedrock, while GPR details the sand stratification as weIl as the presence of a wet zone inside the dune. |
