| Abstract | Ground water has been exploited in the Sabana de Bogota for decades; its use has increased after the 80s. The management of the underground hydric resource must be done with enough knowledge of the aquifer system behavior, the water amount to be recharged, storaged and exploited, as well as the benefits and negative efects that eventually could happen. Based upon the availabe hydrogeological information, some topics are considered that allow to start at once the hydrogeologic studies in order to manage the ground water in this section of the country. Several case histories, of extensive aquifers in the word, are described to enlighten its development and management. |
