| Abstract | Increased energy needs in the community, can have an impact on the scarcity of oil so that it becomes dependent on energy. The development of product diversification in the form of mixed sugar cane briquettes and durian skin in an effort to obtain alternative fuels. Briquettes mixed with sugar cane and durian skin have the potential to be used as renewable energy sources. Efforts and innovations make mixed sugar cane briquettes and durian skin as alternative fuels that have characteristics with quality and performance of the heating value. Trials and evaluations of mixed sugar cane briquettes and durian skins are needed before being developed and recommended as alternative fuels. Through the technology of the process of making briquettes with compacting and optimizing the content of the composition and use of adhesive types so that the maximum quality of the calorific value is obtained. From this study, it was obtained that mixed sugar cane briquettes and durian skins were recommended as alternative fuels. The characteristics of the heating value of mixed sugar cane briquettes and durian skin with gambir adhesives were obtained at 16967.91 kJ/Kg with a density of 682.23 Kg/m. Briquettes that have a high density have a high calorific value. Comparison of the composition of the mixture in making briquettes is 40%: 40%: 20%. In the manufactured of briquettes, the concentration of the use of adhesives affects the caloric value it produces. In addition, the mesh size, force of compaction also affects the characteristics of the calorific value and density of the briquettes. |
