Abstract	It is the aim of the present article to examine the municipal power and urban oligarchies of Galicia during the ancient regimen crisis and creation of the new liberal model's, and show the internal complexity of the groups striving to achieve local control from state (political and social) positions. It also discusses the consequences for them of the monarchical rearrangement affecting them directly or indirectly, increasing tensions within and outside the institution.
