| Abstract | The food industry is considered one of the biggest polluters in the manufacturing industry. In this way the objective of this work is to analyze the efficiency of the effluent treatment process and the effluent characteristics generated through a case study in an industry in this branch. A significant reduction of organic matter after treatment of the effluents was observed. It was also verified that all parameters analyzed were within the limits required by current legislation. In this way, it can be affirmed that the combination of physico-chemical and biological treatment is a good option for the treatment of effluents from the food processing and manufacturing industries. |
