| Abstract | The competitiveness in various industries has encouraged organizations to develop ways to make their operations and production processes more efficient and more productive. The goal of the company is seeking to have characteristics that allow good results in the competition. Thus, this study presents concepts of the application of tools and techniques for solving problems by improving production efficiency in a production line. Still presents an overview of the evolution of manufacturing worldwide, addressing the main causes of transformation from crafts to the technological innovation of today. The study was conducted in a food processing plant located in Vale do Taquari, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The methodology was structured in a proposed model supported by the MASP (Method of Analysis and Troubleshooting). The results obtained in the study, after the implementation of the improvement actions, showed several positive aspects to the situation of the historical data. There was a decrease of 28.29% in unscheduled downtime, increase of 58.27% in the average time between failures and 5.95% in the mechanical efficiency of the machine. Furthermore, an increase of 13.73% on the overall efficiency of the equipment and a reduction of 23% in loss of packaging. Thus, the work contributed to the generation of positive results to the process, enabling productivity gains and cost reductions by improving the indicators, with the opportunity to achieve even better results with the continued application of the methodology. |
