| Abstract | Objective: to raise in the literature about the duties of the nurse in Therapeutic Hypothermia. Methods: integrative review carried out between 2006 and 2015. The search of the sources for scientific foundation was based on researches in the Electronic Electronic Library Online (SciELO) electronic platform, through the Virtual Health Library (VHL). The following descriptors were initially defined: induced hypothermia, nurse, cryotherapy, cardiorespiratory arrest, rewarming. Results: the subjects covered by the scientific articles were organized into four categories of analysis: therapeutic mechanisms of Therapeutic Hypothermia; Benefits of Therapeutic Hypothermia; Phases of Therapeutic Hypothermia; The nurse in Therapeutic Hypothermia. Conclusion: the nurse is necessary in this scenario participating in some stages of therapeutic hypothermia. This action has been shown to be an effective procedure with regard to the reduction of neurological lesions.
