| Abstract | Sihana: Identification of two phase flow pattern using X-ray Absorption and Scattering technique and neural network In order to improve the bubble identification technique, the X-ray scattering was studied experimentally in upward air-water two phase flow in vertical tubes. A new approach for identification of flow pattern using of neural network model is introduced. X-ray Compton scattering measurement technique is developed to observe a small volume element in the two-phase flow. The X-ray source and detectors are very good collimated. The measured signal from the detector can be digitalized by making use of the size signal. The signal of the volume element filled by water is bigger than in the case of the gas. The digitalized signal is used to identify the phase in volume element. Two volume elements in the flow direction can be observed parallel using two identical detectors. The velocity of gas bubble can be estimated by analysis of the time series of the measured signal and the distance of the two volume elements using the cross correlation technique. Additional X-ray absorption measurement technique is used to observe the density of the center chord of two-phase flow. A statistical analysis of the attenuation and scattering signals is used to create characterized pattern of the flow. The statistical parameters, mean, variance as well as average amplitude of spectral density function of the measured signal are calculated. A model of neural networks is developed to predict the transition from bubble to slug flow. The classification result of the neural network should be compared with the most used classical classificator, neighbor and bayes classificator. Inhaltsverzeichnis 5 |
