| Abstract | E. Axberg (2012) Female student’s opinions and attitudes towards gender, gender equality and health in a University in Sweden. CLevel Essay. Gävle: University of Gävle, College of Health and Working Life; 2012. The purpose of the study was to find out what female students at a university in Sweden thinks about gender, gender equality and health. The methods to get data were qualitative interviews with four female students. The women were in their twenties. The results of the study showed that the women had similar opinions but also different. The women had knowledge of the subject but some of them felt that it was trite. They felt that it was some gender inequality in Sweden but that we were nevertheless successful compared to other countries. The women did think that there were differences between the sexes when it came to health, but it is more individual than it is due to sex. The women found that people who break the gender stereotypes were interesting but strange and people that break stereotypes are brave. The conclusion drawn from this study was that it would be beneficial to create ways that make it easier to talk about gender, gender equality and how it affects health in different ways. |
