Abstract	The increased demand for portable computers with longer battery life, coupled with the growing power budget required for desktop processors, have made it impractical to use desktop processors in mobile platforms. The Intel Pentium M is the first Intel processor designed specifically for mobile platforms. Since its introduction in 2003, it has largely displaced the Mobile Pentium 4 and Pentium 4 processors in portable computers.
