| Abstract | A novel chemilulninescence flow system for the determination ofhydrazine is presented. It is based on the enhancement effectofhydrazine on the chemiluminescence reaction between IUlninol and BrOin alkaline media. The oxidant BrOwas on-line electrogenerated by constant current electrolysis, resulting in the elimination ofthe inconvenience of its instability. The variables that affect the reaction were investigated and optitnum condition was established. Hydrazine can be determined in the range of 0.01-10 J.1g mlJ with a detection limit ofO.003J.1gmr (30'). A complete analysis could be done in 1 min with the relative standard deviation of 3.7%. The proposed method is suitable for the automatic and continuous on-line monitoring of low level ofhydrazine. A few examples of the determination ofhydrazine in drinking and river waters are given. |
