Abstract	This paper examines Spanish novels and cuentos de objeto which include It-fiction, the critical label that describes stories featuring a non-human character (animal, plant or mineral) that moves among different social strata, and, at the same time, reflects them. For this, a small textual corpus of Spanish, British and French literature is analyzed with the objective of shedding light on European narrative forms across the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries through these mirror fictions that only now are beginning to be examined.
