| Abstract | In Brazil, the sewage treatment system in runoff ramps was implemented by some sanitation companies for being low cost and provide similar treatment efficiency or greater than those obtained by conventional methods, provided that it is properly up kept. This work aimed to evaluate the spatial variability of soil chemical attributes, removing nutrients and the productivity of Brachiaria humidicula ramp runoff for sewage treatment. Ramps working in the municipality of Januaria/MG, receive effluent from a primary treatment unit, an upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) which before passed through preliminary treatment (solid removal). 24 samples of soil and plant tissue were collected into a mesh mounted on the ramps. The pH, electric conductivity (EC), the ratio of sodium absorption (RAS), exchangeable sodium percent (ESP), and the contents of organic matter (OM), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), sodium (Na), iron (Fe), zinc (Zn) and copper (Cu) analyzed in the soil samples. Plant tissue samples were analyzed considering the productivity of fresh and dry matter, removal of nitrogen (N), P and K. There was a high spatial variation in productivity, where the mean value of fresh and dry matter was 84 and 14 t ha-1, respectively. Macronutrients P and K were analyzed and showed mean values of 577.6 and 23.9 mg dm-3, respectively. The highest concentrations of Na, K, Zn, Mn, Mg, Ca, Fe and Cu were obtained in the central region of the area. The average removal of N, P and K was approximately 360, 65 and 430 t ha-1, respectively. |
