Abstract	This study aimed to evaluate the carbon dynamics and crop yield in soil under the application of pig manure tillage system. The experiment was conducted in a property in the county Braco do Norte (SC) under an Argissolo Vermelho. The experimental design was randomized blocks and treatments were: control, litter of pigs, pig slurry and mineral N fertilization, all except the control, once and twice the recommended nitrogen for the corn and oats. From october 2008 until october 2009 was collected and evaluated soil organic carbon, total soil microbial biomass carbon, respiration and metabolic quotient of soil microorganisms, the yield of crops of oats and corn and decomposition of oat residues. The land application of swine manure as a liquid and solid, and N fertilization did not affect the content of total organic carbon in soil, and had little influence on microbial biomass. The respiration of the soil in general was not influenced by dose and type of fertilizers tested, and the changes caused mainly by the seasonal effect. The doses of pig manure and nitrogen fertilizer did not affect the decomposition of the trash or the yield of oats and corn, but they influenced the chemical pH, P, K, Ca and Mg in the different treatments, with higher values in the treatment swine deep litter.
