| Abstract | The literature contains a wide variety of hysteresis models, each with the ability to model different features of hysteretic systems. The classical Preisach model is effective for rate-independent hysteresis with complex reversal behavior. Likewise, the Kransnoserskii-Pokrovskii model has the ability to capture complex reversal mechanisms. The paper focuses on the generalized Duhem model, which is based on a nonlinear ordinary differential equation that can model either rate-independent or rate-dependent hysteresis. |
