| Abstract | As many students are making plans for the week end, a handful of Saint Mary’s women are prepar ing for the Saint Mary’s Awakening Retreat. The overnight retreat, which is being held at Still W a te rs f a rm h o u s e in r u r a l M ichigan, gives s tu d e n t s the c h a n c e to sp e n d q u a l i ty t im e w ith friends, away from the daily ac tiv it ies on campus. “The main purpose of the re trea t is to deepen God’s p re se n c e in ou r l ives ,” sa id Liz Riegel, L itu rg ica l M in is tr ie s c o o rd in a to r and r e t r e a t le a d e r . “God is p r e s e n t in o u r lives th ro u g h prayer , sc r ip tu re , and those a round us, but at times we become so involved in our daily routines that we don’t take time to listen or deal with the deeper question of his meaning in our lives.” The Saint Mary’s Awakening Retreats began last year and grew out of initiative of the Spirituality Community Leadership Team.
