Abstract	EFFORTS TO IMPROVE LEARNING MOTIVATION ON STUDENT OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL BUDYA WACANA YOGYAKARTA THROUGH GROUP COUNSELING SERVICES WITH BRIEF COUNSELING APPROACHES (Action Research) Adirman Telaumbanua Universitas Sanata Dharma 2015 This study aims to determine: a description of the motivation to learn the subject of research, find out whether the motivation to study four subjects can be enhanced through group counseling services with Brief Counseling approaches, in terms of knowing what the motivation to study four subjects appears to be increasing. This type of research is Action Research and conducted in two cycles. The action taken is the group counseling services with Brief Counseling approaches. The subjects were students of class XI MIA Senior High School Budya Wacana Yogyakarta consists of four people. The object under study is the increased motivation to learn in four subjects using the Brief Counseling approaches. The data in this study were obtained through observation, interviews and reflections of each cycle. The data obtained were analyzed qualitatively. The results showed that counseling services with Brief Counseling approaches can increase the motivation to learn in the fourth study subjects at each cycle is done (the first and the second cycle). Increased motivation to learn four subjects seen from the changes in the behavior shown in daily life. Changes in the behavior of subjects include; spirit of tasks, capable of concentration, noting the important things, listening to the teacher, last longer during learning, and actively involved in the learning process. It can be concluded that the application of group counseling with Brief Counseling approaches can help increase motivation to learn in four subjects in this study.
