| Abstract | After having done a statistical study of heavy daily precipitations -h. D. P. - on a network of 366 stations of east-central france, we are seeking to relate the occurence and the spatial distribution of these h. D. P. With the meteorological patterns of patrick benichou's automatical classification. To do so, we first determine the best meteorological field for studying h. D. P. , and we spatialize the frequency of h. D. P. For the 10 meteorological patterns of this field. Second, we perform a coupled analysis based on 2 meteorological fields. Finally, we use principal component analysis to assess the spatial distribution of h. D. P. With respect to the 150 meteorological patterns of the 15 meteorological fields of the classification. This method shows the main climatic influences which account for heavy precipitations in eastcentral france. Results are submitted to a hierarchical cluster analysis. In the last part, we study some of the most significant heavy precipitations events, and we relate them with the climatic influences defined in the second part. |
