Abstract	El presente articulo de investigacion pretende mostrar la caracterizacion y evaluacion de los factores riesgo laboral a que estan expuestos los trabajadores en la pequena y mediana industria metalmecanica de Cartagena. La metodologia utilizada en el estudio incluyo el analisis descriptivo de los datos, a traves de la aplicacion de las tecnicas y herramientas de la estadistica descriptiva e inferencial y aplicacion de instrumento estructurado in situ, para la recoleccion de informacion. Para el desarrollo de este estudio se tomo el total de las empresas (16) metalmecanicas afiliadas a la Asociacion colombiana de las Micro, Pequenas y Medianas Empresas (ACOPI). Como resultados importantes se destaca en Cartagena el grupo de la industria metalmecanica mas destacado con 25% siendo esta la Clasificacion Industrial Internacional Uniforme (CIIU) 289, relacionada con la fabricacion de otros productos elaborados de metal y actividades de servicios relacionados con el trabajo de metales. Asimismo, se tiene que 7 de 16 empresarios afirman que el principal agente al que estan expuestos sus trabajadores es el ergonomico, siguiendo los agentes quimicos con 33.75% y agentes de seguridad con 32.95, los cuales derivan en enfermedades profesionales y, estos a su vez, en disminucion en la eficiencia productiva del sector metalmecanico. Abstract: This article aims to show the characterization research and evaluation of occupational risk factors to which workers are exposed in small and medium Cartagena metalworking industry. The methodology used in the study included a descriptive analysis of the data, through the application of the techniques and tools of descriptive and inferential statistics and application of in situ structured instrument for colecting information. To develop this study took the total number of companies (16) metalworking affiliates Colombian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (ACOPI). As important results highlighted in Cartagena the metalworking industry group with 25% highlights being the International Standard Industrial Classification (CIUU)289, related to the manufacture of other fabricated metal products and service activities related to metalworking. It also has that 7 of 16 employers say that the main agent to which workers are exposed is the ergonomic following chemical with 33.7% and security agents 32.95%, which result in occupational diseases, and these, in turn, decreased production efficiency in the engineering sector.
