| Abstract | BWGEOM is an interactive environment for defining the geometry of breakwaters, navigation channels and general dredging using B-spline curves, Bspline patches and Coons' patches. The definition of the bottom surface is based on offsets, i.e. points Iying on the seo bottom surface. The definition of breakwaters is based on the bottom surface and a few design parameters, such as the axis of the breakwater, the slopes, the breadth of the crest and the type of the breakwater end. Navigation channels and general dredging are defined using contours and slopes. BWGEOM consists of independed modules, /nvolv/ng the geometry definit/on of three types of objects, i.e. the ax/s, the bottom surface and a th/rd category of objects includ/ng breakwaters, navigation channels and general dredging, the drawings of such objects, their intersections with arbitrary planes, os weil as calculations based on those objects, for example volume calculations. The modules ore connected toeoch other thfOUgh a commondata-base. |
