| Abstract | The problem of the dating of the levantin cave art like the postpaleolitic cave art of the Spanish peninsula in general, was set out almost at the same time that the discoveries (the first ones in Calapata and Cogul) and study at the beginning of this century. We analyze in which way the Abott Henri Breuil constructed his theory about the paleolitic age of those expressions and how did exist some points of view about the m which were never published (known by letters). Although ambigously, Juan Cabre was the first one who showed a contrary point of view (1915). The proof of the holocenic dates corresponded first1y to Eduardo Hernandez Pacheco (1922) and the to Martin Almagro Basch (after 1945). It is emphasized the importance of the symposium of Wartenstein (1960). The arguments and new discoveries of the latest years which set out new problems are summarized. |
