| Abstract | The idyll in 14th-15th century romances is characterized and distinguished by the « paradise » it offers young lovers. Three groups are obvious : the perverse idyll, the moral idyll, and the ambiguous idyll. Examining these three kinds of idyll the article focuses above all on what distinguishes the romances that fall under each heading according to the valorization or condemnation of the idyll and the paradise it proposes. |
