Abstract	This is a floristic and phytosociological structure study on the herbaceous layer of an Araucaria Forest remnant conducted at the Araucarias Municipal Park, in Guarapuava, Parana (25o 21'06" S and 51° 28'08" W). In order to know the herbaceous vegetation, 40 permanent 1 x 1m plots were installed at 5m intervals. 37 species from 19 families were indentified, frequency and relative and absolute cover calculations were performed, and the importance value was also measured. The Poaceae family prevailed in the area in terms of physiognomy. The species with highest importance values were Panicum helobium Mez ex Henrard, Ctenitis distans (Brack.) Ching, Adenostemma verbesina (L.) Kuntze, Lasiacis sp, Panicum pilosum Sw. and Carex sp. The synusiae was characterized by the presence of a canopy consisting mainly of herbaceous Ctenitis distans
